Can-C NAC DropsProfound products
Increases The Time Carnosine Drops Can Remain In The EyeCan-C Plus™ contains N-Acetyl Carnosine drops that can lubricate the eyes and have traditionally been used as a protection protocol against cataract development.
Optimise The Action Of Carnosine Eye DropsClinical trials show that the regular use of a 1% N-acetylcarnosine (N.A.C.) eye drop delivers a high dose of carnosine capable of reversing the cross-linking of the lens crystallins and aids in the reduction and possible eradication of cataracts. N-Acetyl Carnosine can help to prevent carnosine in the eye drops from being broken down; this action increases both the potency of the eye drops and the length of time that the eye drops remain active in the eye.
Enhance Free Radical Protection
N-acetylcarnosine delivers L-carnosine into the aqueous humor of the eye where it acts as an antioxidant, protecting structural lens proteins from the free radical-induced oxidation process.
Reduce Oxidative DamageCan-C Plus™ is designed to reduce the oxidative environment inside the eye. It’s recommended for those who want the maximum benefit possible while using Can-C Eye Drops or those who have more advanced cataract, or severely diminished vision to start with. The capsules and the eye drops should be combined from day one.

Cataracts are caused by the hardening and discoloration of the lens due to lifelong cross-linking (glycosylation) of the lens proteins with ascorbate. This persists in the aqueous humor at high concentrations, due to the low availability of natural defences in the form of antioxidants (which decline with advancing age). N-acetylcarnosine delivers L-carnosine into the aqueous humor of the eye (the fluid area surrounding the lens) where it acts as a natural and comprehensive antioxidant, protecting structural lens proteins from the free-radical induced oxidation process.
As cataracts develops, antioxidant defence in the body is exhausted, leading to the cross-linking of the lens crystallins and producing a clouded lens and impaired eyesight. The clinical trials show that the regular use of a 1% N-acetylcarnosine (N.A.C.) eye-drop, delivers a high dose of carnosine capable of reversing the lens cross-linking of the lens crystallins and aids in the reduction and possible eradication of cataracts.
