Magnesium FAQs
Which type of magnesium should I choose?
If you’d like a daily supplement, Magnesium Glycinate is a popular choice. If you prefer something to apply to your skin, choose the oil spray for quick application, a lotion or body butter if you’d like moisturising, or bath flakes for a relaxing soak.
What is magnesium glycinate?
Magnesium glycinate is magnesium bound to glycine, an amino acid. It’s one of several forms of magnesium used in supplements, alongside others such as citrate and oxide.
How much magnesium do I need?
The NHS says adults aged 19 to 64 need 300mg a day (men) or 270mg a day (women), which most people can get from a varied diet. Taking more than 400mg a day from supplements can cause diarrhoea.
Why does magnesium oil tingle?
Some people notice a tingling feeling when they first use magnesium oil, especially on freshly shaved or dry skin. Try applying it to a different area, or choose a lotion instead. Don’t apply it to broken or irritated skin.
